About the Large Scale Calorimeter
The Large Scale Calorimeter (model FT-LSC-608) from FT Solutions Co., Ltd. (FESTEC), South Korea, measures heat release in real-scale fires by oxygen-consumption calorimetry. Its Heat Release Rate range is 1 to 10 MW, extendable to 10–30 MW, so complete commodities, furniture, vehicles and warehouse-type fire loads can be burned and measured, instead of the small 100 × 100 mm specimens used in a cone calorimeter.
The system is built for ISO 24473 (open calorimetry), ISO 9705 (room corner test), EN 13823 (single burning item), EN 45545 (railway fire protection) and EN 50399 (cables under fire conditions).
