Twin thermocouples 45 mm either side of the burner centre-line hold the flame at 750 ±50 °C, and the cable is clamped by two 150 mm metal support rings about 300 mm apart. The test can run from the control panel or in automatic computer-software mode, with a KWS 409 option, and the unit can share a Slidac power system with IEC 60331-11/12 and BS 6387 testing.
