About the Karg Fluometer ADP Bulk Density Tester

The Fluometer type ADP from Karg, Germany, is a bulk density tester used to measure the apparent or bulk density of pellets and powders of different raw material supplies. The values determined with it are also used to calculate the filling space of an injection mould. The bulk density of powdered, granular and other materials is determined according to different standards.

Five versions are available: 1010.000 for DIN EN ISO 60 and GB/T 1636 type A, 1013.000 for ASTM D 1895 method A, 1014.000 for ASTM D 1895 method B, 1015.000 for SL-QC-003 and 1016.000 for GB/T 1636 type B. They differ in funnel and measuring cup: the cup volume is 100 ml, 400 ml or 500 ml and the funnel outlet runs from 9.5 to 39 mm; the full table is below.

The measuring device is robust and stable, with a leveling device and adjustable feet, an adjustable filling funnel, a polished funnel and cup, and a quick release for the spout (instrument dependent). The two smaller versions weigh approx. 8 kg and the other three approx. 15 kg.

Bulk density tester: frequently asked questions

What does the Karg Fluometer ADP measure?

It measures the apparent or bulk density of pellets and powders of different raw material supplies. The bulk density of powdered, granular and other materials is determined according to different standards.

What are the density values used for?

Besides the bulk density itself, the values determined with the Fluometer are used for the calculation of the filling space of an injection mould.

Which standards and versions are available?

There are five versions: 1010.000 for DIN EN ISO 60 and GB/T 1636 type A, 1013.000 for ASTM D 1895 method A, 1014.000 for ASTM D 1895 method B, 1015.000 for SL-QC-003 and 1016.000 for GB/T 1636 type B.

What are the measuring cup sizes?

The measuring cup holds 100 ml (versions 1010.000, 1013.000 and 1016.000), 400 ml (1014.000) or 500 ml (1015.000), with inner diameters of 45, 39.93, 46, 86 and 45 mm and heights of 70, 85, 240, 91 and 70 mm respectively.

What features, size and weight does the Fluometer have?
