About the CSI HDT-VICAT Tester
The CSI Heat Distortion Tester (models CSI-107 and HDT-III), from CSI, USA, determines the thermal softening properties of plastic and polymer materials quickly and accurately, with precision and reproducibility. It runs 3-6 test stations and applies VICAT loads of 10 N and 50 N.
Temperature rise rates are 2 ± 0.2 °C/min, 50 ± 5 °C/hr or freely selectable, up to a maximum of 300 °C, and the cooling system brings the bath from 300 °C to 30 °C in 15 minutes. Test standards are ASTM D648, ASTM D1525, ISO 75, ISO 306, DIN 53460, DIN 53461 and BS 2782.
